Meeting Time and Place

Scratch the surface of just about any author, reporter, columnist, poet, essayist and you'll find someone who questions his abilities just like the rest of the world. He  can list far more failings and rejections than accomplishments  Truth be told, he/she  wonders if or when inspiration will come again or if their work will be accepted.

The phenomenon which is so often a secret hallmark of CEOs in the business world has been called 'the imposter syndrome'.  In other words,  a fear  that some day they'll be 'found out' and the truth will be revealed that they really don't know what they're doing.

Writers have the same issue.

This group is for you.

If you can check your defenses at the door and join a group of kindred spirits, then you are a candidate for  The Burley Point Writers' Group for the Professional.

Meetings will be held  from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Lunch and some materials will be provided. Most sessions will include a speaker/facilitator who will be invited to meet the needs of the members of the group. These will be top-notch professionals who not only will assist you in the group meeting, but could provide important networking opportunities for you in the future. Count on meeting a literary agent, editors and publishers who understand the business aspects of becoming successful as well as wonderful writers

The power of the group is in the individuals who make up the whole. Members are selected solely on the contribution they can make  by being willing to give and receive constructive feedback in a caring and supportive manner.

There will be a number of opportunities to learn tips and techniques and ways  to work through the obstacles that get in the way of achieving your long-term goals. You can count on your group to be respectful and challenging.
